Choice of modules for a beginner to Drupal

Hi,

I'm new here on the forum and also a new user of Drupal.

I have created several sites with different technologies and CMS (especially Joomla) but never with Drupal.

Today I decided to create my first site in Drupal and I need, if you allow, the assistance of experienced people here on the forum to start and make the right choice.

I created a space for my school student, I did some research and I need to know please among the list of issues cited in the list below:
1 - What Drupal can handle by default without installing third party components.
2 - What are the Drupal modules best suited to manage these issues.

- Videos.
- Document Management.
- Photo gallery.
- Manager form (can easily add form of BackOffice with simple clicks, creating different fields and labels, with validation-javascript ...)
- Management Jobs.
- NewsLetter
- FAQ
- RSS
- Site Map
- Liaison between articles and media (doc, photos, videos ...)
- Manager comments on articles.
- Poll
- Manager banners.

And one last module to be used for the presentation of school teachers, each teacher will have a photo, description, or the subjects he teaches, his diplomas and other info ... This module should be easily manageable in backoffice. I think this module should be developed hand in hand so I can use something like a catalog just ready to serve the same purpose.

MySQL 5.1?

I started to install the Ubuntu package of Drupal, but aborted when I saw that the package manager would revert MySQL back to 5.0 from 5.1.

I can't see anything on this site stating supported versions of MySQL, PHP and Apache.

Can someone help me find where this is documented?

Thanks

How to input custom form data and display it for a club based website.

Hi all.

I would like to ask whether Drupal would be able to do the following and what modules etc I might need to achieve this.

I would like to develop a club listing based website.

Each club would register, submit data into custom fields, that data would then be stored in a database.

Visitors could then browse each club entry and/or search by specific criteria.

I would prefer to have each club page data displayed in a fixed manner possibly tables so that each club page has the same identical format.

Best way to do this.

So Im helping setup a site for my Wife and sisters reps. The sell purses and all there reps place orders by fillling out an excel sheet. They would rather this be done online. I looked at creating a webform but was thinking maybe there is a better way. Any suggestions? Im fairly new to this so thanks for the patients in advance.

Storing multiple images in Drupal

Developing the site, which will contain a large number of copyright photos. What are the known ways to store large numbers of images that are inserted with Drupal.
Thanks

drupal as an industrial data collection frontend

I'm setting up a data collection tool. Collection data from a semi automated production line.
I'm using labview to get data from sensors to a mysql database.

A webpage will display the data, and some php/python scripts will be used to do analysis on the data.

I'm investigating the possibilities of drupal (not really made for this purpose, but it's flexible) (i'm a first time user)

i also need to collect manual input, the data must be easy to access, import/export, extend, ...
