Before you start

I've used Drupal on one or two sites before, these sites were mainly used for news and in one case a small company.

I am doing some research for a new project. I have to build a site for a soccer league.

There are 10 divisions each with minimum 10 teams. Each team has minimum 11 players.
A number of cup tournaments take place each season also.

Updates will be required on a weekly basis - i.e. 50 match results, scorers and cards for league weekends, or similar for cup ties.

I am new to Drupal.

This is a more of a design question...

If I have an existing website and would like to use Drupal in certain areas of my site, can this be done?

For instance, I will create an area in my website where I would like to insert all the Newletters Links saved in Drupal

Can I use Drupal for that? Like insert code that will pull that content in that specific area?

We are migrating from other CMS (RedDot) to Drupal.
Before, we had one instance of the CMS and the contents publicated in two different servers ,one for testing,one for production.

How ca we do the same with drupal? We must use just one instance of Drupal in one server and have one "testing" SITE and other for "production" and deploy the changes using moudles like rush (if this is the option please tellme with module use)?

Or maybe we need to have two INSTANCES of drupal having each one just one site? (in this case,how can we do the deployment?)
