Photo Captions and Export?

Once a beta of Drupal 7 is released, I'm considering switching to the platform. However, I have two serious feature requests, solutions to which would make the process incredibly less troublesome.

1) Photo captioning in the core. Currently, to have photo captioning, you either need to be a programmer and develop them yourself, use a module that is hit-or-miss, or adopt a profile in order to obtain the one feature.

Football/Soccer Site - League/Fixture/Roster/Finance/Transfer etc..

Hi guys,

Well i'm new around these parts, why else am i posting in the "Before you start" section right! :)

So...

Basically the idea i have is i'm wanting to create a football/soccer themed website with the following features:

League Tables - Filtered by season and or competition type.

Fixture Lists - Overall fixture list plus the ability to filter by individual teams.

Team Rosters - Overall team roster list, showing position, country origin, name, contact info, squad number.

Individual Player Profiles - Player photo, squad number, country origin, gender, etc...

Individual Team Profiles - Team photo/logo, country origin, about us, etc....

Statistics - Team stats (form, wins, losses, goals, clean-sheets, etc)

Statistics - Individual player stats (man of the match, goals, assists, cleansheets, red/yellow cards, etc)

Statistics - Leaderboards showing the top 10 of for example, Goalscorers, Assisters, Cleansheets etc.

Organic Groups for intranet with groups?

Hi I would appreciate any advice on the best solution for achieving the following:

I would like to build one Site under one domain name with many separate, identical social networks or intranets built with the same set of pages, content types, functionality etc. but which have different users per each network/intranet who are excluded from the other networks (except on certain pages like a listings section in which a filter setting will allow a user from one community to access listings from another community as well, if so desired.)

How do i achieve this setup? Is organic groups the way to go?

Possible problem with this route: I want organic groups to be providing the functionality for people within the networks to “organically” form groups. Thus if organic groups was powering the separation of the many networks by making them distinct groups would it also be able provide functionality for people within each of those networks to organically form groups? Would that require subgroups- it doesn’t seem supported? Or some customization?

Or:

Will Drupal.... ?

Howdy! I am looking for a solution that will allow the following:

- Allow portal members to have a profile where they can post various information AND post events that will be visible in a calendar.
- Provide me (the admin) with a mailing list so I can communicate with these portal members
- Allow site visitors to access information posted by the portal members (events, profiles, services, etc.)

Does Drupal facilitate this type of function? If so, what types of mods do I need?

vBulletin, Drupal & CivicCRM

I'm wanting to build a website for an umbrella nonprofit organization I'm forming that sponsors various local nonprofit and community projects/groups. I started with the idea that I could use vBulletin to run multiple forums (each group would have it's own set of user permissions so some would be private for their members only, others would be for their leaders only, and some would be open for the greater community to read & participate in).

Then, I thought it would be great if, based on these same group/level permissions, there could be some associated web-pages and wiki-type collaborative authoring type pages so they could better coordinate their fund-raising efforts, community service events/activities, and we could provide them with low-cost alternatives to having their own website until they are big enough to spin off on their own.

Someone mentioned Drupal and it's CivicCRM module. I understand Drupal works with vBulletin, but how about those two with CivicCRM? Can this be done? Is it fairly basic, or would it be an expensive customized website?

Curious Challenge interested in feedback

Gidday.
So I've been researching a lot in the module community recently for a service to install on a sports website.
