I'm currently using a custom made CMS, which I no longer can go on with. At the moment I'm looking for a CMS to build my website around. As to today, it seems that drupal is far the better choice. But before I go on, I want to resolve a couple of question regarding user database management. My website has big register of members and for each user I want to retrieve several information. In the current link there are listed different fields/columns about each user: http://esge.org/?p=users&p2=register
I want to start a project that is open source and FREE but incorporates the following:
Drupal with MyBB integrated into it as the forum solution.
Yes i know you have some forum bridges / mods but i want a whole CMS with MyBB based forum software. This software would forever be free and open source and updated as each system is updated to ensure quality / security.
1. Can i package Drupal with MyBB integrated into it?
2. What is the specific license that drupal uses now?
Good to all, if I may be helping out with a problem I have and I've been stuck for several days in the case. I have a drupal installation in June and I want to do the following. In one view, with a list of users who have a particular role, user filtering by country, area, etc. I want to stay with a series of record chosen by the user (first point I do not really know how to solve, next to the view you should see a box marking and this would be chosen by the user or not), now with these selected records the Users should complete a form (now I'm doing with webform) and give the submit button the form should be sent to the records that the user selects the previous view (this is the second point that is not no where to be addressed) I've been watching some module that allows this or can adapt but the truth that I have not found anything to help me. I really appreciate any help or clue as to where to watch, thank you
I am creating a site that will need to have one master set of nodes, and then multiple extensions of each master node. Each extension will be available to different groups of users. I was thinking about using Organic Groups, but have never really used OG before. I've played around with it and read some documentation and looked at some supporting modules, but haven't really put any of it to use.
Here's a more detailed situation:
I will have a parent content type with a title and description that are manageable only by site admins and viewable by everyone. I will create OG groups and each group will have a group admin, and multiple group users. The group admin can "extend" each parent node, not editing title or description , but updating other fields. The group users will be able to see that extended node with the title and description from the parent node and the other fields from that groups extension of that parent node.
Drupal - to use or not to use that is the question
I was looking at Drupal as a possible candidate for use as a "total website solution". I found a fabulous study of it recently and was almost convinced to go for it. I then went to have a look at some of the old DrupalCon sites and found some issues. Does the community not believe in backward compatibility?
Drupal - How to decide
I found a report on the web that said I should check out something about your community. So, I did. It seemed like DrupalCon 2010 in Copenhagen was considered a success, on the forums.
