I'm considering using Drupal as an ecommerce solution. I already have a shopping cart that I'm using with my wordpress site, but Wordpress is not really built for ecommerce. That said, I'd like to start by building a test site in a /test directory with Drupal. If I'm able to use Drupal, I will then want to move it to my root directory and delete wordpress. How difficult will that be?
Also, is there a charge for using Drupal as a public, ecommerce site?
Does anyone know of a module that would let users import data from one node to another? I'm trying to think of a system where users could create template nodes that could then be referenced and imported into another node. Starting down my first project path with Drupal and I would like to build a development site to allow my client ongoing review as the new website is constructed. The new design will be replacing a currently live domain/hosted website and I'm confused about the following:
Should I download Drupal inside of the current hosted account, maintaining the active html pages (index.html) but enable a link to view the separate development site?
I have read some older posts where users had issues using Drupal with GoDaddy as the host. Does anyone have more recent experience? Do most modules work? I am assuming we would have to stick with Drupal 6.x for right now - is that correct or does the host not affect what version you use?
I am happy with my servoce with them so far and would like to stick with them if it is feasible. Thanks in advance!
I am trying to figure out a solution for community members of a Drupal site to sell their wares. Think of Ebay, or Etsy; or Meetup for events. What would be a good way to set this up? Can Drupal do this?
