HTML in pages

I'm currently working on this site: xxxx

I'm working within that page only (I created a new node, the only thing my code effects is under the subnavbar, to the left of the boxes starting with "Forum Topics", to the right of the blue border, and above the advertisement). I'd consider myself a beginner at coding, mostly knowledge of basic html with some knowledge of javascipt/css. I've got a couple of questions, if someone is willing to help me out (note: I did a few searches but I wasn't exactly sure how to phrase this):

Add Content problems

When I try to do "Add Content", the basic page doesn't show up as an option to use. Is there a way I can get it to show up? At the moment all that is there is "Poll" and "Home General Add"

Upgrading My Price Comparison Site - Stick with Drupal?

Hey all! In 2008, I launched http://www.priceplow.com - a Price Comparison engine for nutritional supplements. It's based on Drupal 5.

Since then, I've developed a supporting network of 35 sites (WordPress), and as you can imagine, I've learned a lot and have been able to go full-time with this business.

Now it's time to fix my baby up, and I'm wondering if I should stick with Drupal when I do a total rewrite, or go to some PHP MVC framework.

The more I look at it, the more I see that Drupal's capabilities are fine for my site, it's just my implementation and back-end that needs serious change.. as well as a more polished, professional look.

As a note, I WILL be hiring someone to help with this. I can code, but don't always do things efficiently. Feel free to buzz me with resumes if you think this is a good idea.

I've put together a large list of technology requirements, but I'm going to highlight the important things:

1. My own data tables with foreign key constraints.

This is the most important decision, if I choose Drupal.

Drupal Site Architecture

We’re a college within a university and we want to switch over to Drupal but we have questions about the best way to set it up.

We have our main website (website.com) and three large subsites (subsite1.website.com, subsite2.website.com, subsite3.website.com). Each of these subsites have different organizations that have their own websites (subsite1.website.com/org1, subsite1.website.com/org2, etc.). Some content like news articles and events are shared across the sites. All other content is pertinent to only the specific group.

We need to restrict users to their own groups. Members in subsite1.website.com/org1 should for the most part only have permissions for org1 stuff and not org2 or subsite2 stuff. In a previous question, I was told Organic Groups is good for this.

Also, we need to be able to have similar directory or file names. For example there will be a subsite1.website.com/about-us and a subsite2.website.com/about-us. I heard this is a problem with domain access.

Currently, we have a multisite set up (correct terminology?), where there is one Drupal install and each subsite (subsite1.website.com, subsite2.website.com, subsite3. website.com) has its own database. The problem I’m seeing in the future is how will we be able to link news and events between the sites?
