Website to sell art prints with some image manipulation from buyers

I received a request to build a website to sell art prints. It should work, ideally, as a showcase for artists. Registered users should be able to create their own galleries. Then every piece of art should be available to be bought by visitors and the artists should earn a percentage from the orders relative to their works.
The trickiest request I think is the following: when a user chooses the picture he wants to buy, he should be allowed to create a little preview of the position, scale and rotation (nothing more than that) of the image over the printing media (which could be different things like paper, plastics, wood, tables etc.). There should be different "templates" (square, rectangular, circle, etc.)
I'm thinking about using Drupal Commerce, but I'm not sure if there's any combination of modules which will allow me to do all of that. My guess is creating a single or more "Print" products where you can reference a picture taken from the galleries and then let the user add a field to that product where he can manipulate the image before placing the order. For the image manipulation I'm investigating the Image Editor module, but I'm still not sure how to add the custom "preview" field to the product and let the user interact with that.
I wonder if anyone has any idea to which course of action would be best.

Drupal for a Download Portal Project

Hello

I've just installed Drupal, seen the videos and read some documentation about it but I haven't started playing with it yet.
I plan to do a download portal similar to Softonic, Download.com that will hold products, videos related to the product, extra information such as language, license, operative system.. etc.

Craigslist Like Site

I'm looking to create a craigslist like site where users can upload pictures and the pictures will be posted to the correct categories. I'm also looking to create something where other users can comment on those pictures (like something you can do in Facebook). I'm new to drupal and have limited coding experience. Is this something that can be pieced together using different modules or will the coding need to be so specialized that I need to consider hiring a developer?

Thanks!

Confused with the Concepts! Question About Content Types and Views Module

Hi everyone;
This is my first post, and I'm actually a beginner to Drupal.
I'm going to run my first Drupal project, but I'm a little confused with the content type and views thing. My website is going to be a Web 2 directory of a kind of products brands. I just don't know where to start and use which feature of Drupal as what! Here is a short summary of what I need:

There are several Brands in the directory. What the Brands actually do is to categorize the Shops. For examples, there are two brands named Brand A and Brand B. Also there are three shops selling the products of these brands. Something like this:

Brand A: Shop1, Shop2
Brand B: Shop1, Shop3

On the other hand, there are some information on the Brands pages too, like News and Blog Posts, Featured Shops, Shops Going on a Sale etc.

Also the Shop pages have some (kind of static or rarely updated) information too, like Name and Description, Address, Contact Info, Showing the Position on Google Maps, URL etc.

There are other kinds of dynamic (or frequently updated) information on the Shop page (or profile) too, like News and Blog Posts, Season Sales, Photo Galleries etc.

Steer me in the right direction please.

Hello all,

I am new to Drupal and I need a bit of some guidance and perhaps a pointer to a tutorial or forum thread on what I need to know.

Firstly, I have very little experience with PHP. However, about 10 years ago, I did a lot of work with ASP and Microsoft SQL server so I do understand the basics of integrating a SQL server to a web interface. PHP seems familiar.

I did manage to get a complete Ubuntu server running mail, DNS, Apache2 and all the require PHP librarys going and have manage to develop a site with Wordpress and have got Drupal core installed on another dev site.

Admitting I was a bit confused on how Drupal all worked and had a big blank stare on my face, So I went and found a few PDFs floating around that and none of them seem to give me a good beginners steer in the right direction for what I would like to do.

Using Drupal for Predesigned Website

I would like to know if Drupal would be what I need to use as a CMS in order to make it easy for people to edit a website. A design has already been created and would like to use a CMS so that other people may go in and make changes as necessary (and don't have to figure out what the markup and stylesheets mean. If necessary.
