I have an 800 page website that I am looking to convert to Drupal. The current website does not use a content management system and has grown over time. I am planning to hire a Drupal development firm to do the conversion. Before doing so, I would like to be sufficiently knowledgeable on Drupal so that I can ask the right questions and have an idea of Drupal features I can use.
I searched Amazon for Drupal books and came up with the following list:

Hello, I'm starting to gather all the information pieces to start with my project and on of the things I need is to get Omniauth and corss SSO working together. My project is based on a Mediawiki + Drupal and I need complete cross multi auth. That is, having a Mediawiki in domain A and Drupal in domain B, a user that registers / login in to any of those domains will be registered and authenticated across both domains or subdomains at the same time. Did somebody do this already ? I would like to gather all the info possible to figure out how to achieve it.
I want to start a social networking site. Is Drupal is the best for it or should I go for other options.
Please suggest and guide me on the issue.
Thanks and regards. [LeadersToday.in@gmail.com]
A friend and I hired someone off odesk/elance to build a Drupal based website for us. We have 0 experience with Drupal. We purposely went with a US based firm but now I really understand why people go offshore now. This guy couldn't even get half of the features of the website working so I had to continually get rid of some items and try to settle for a non-working version of the website. The project got delayed by more than a month. The website is nowhere near finished and we're still trying to get some questions answered on where or how to fix glaring appearance issues.
