Is Drupal a viable solution for my website? Please review What is Drupal before posting.

Is Drupal what I'm looking for?

I've posted this on a couple of different cms/blog/site-solution sites.

I'd like to "beef-up" an MT site. It's sports-related, only one person posting news and rumors. Moving away from "just a blog" to wanting an interactive site with others being involved.

Main things to add:
* user registration
* user submittion of news with approval system
* easy reading of other rss feeds (with caching and good management)

Different sites sharing some tables

We want to have three sites based on Drupal in the same server and under the same domain: interactors.coop, docs.interactors.coop and kernel.interactors.coop.

Things we want to share across sites (this has been solved):

- users and their profiles
- sessions (if you're logged in in one drupal you're logged in in the others).

Things we don't want to share (we are trying to solve this):

session.save_handler

How important is having the option set to:
session.save_handler user

Mine's set to:
session.save_handler Files

I can't really change seeing my php.conf powers multiple sites on my host.

Hardware requirements

What are the minimum and the optimal hardware requirements? Is there a relation between visits, users, posters and the hardware? Thank you.

Suitable for music community?

I'm looking at technologies to use for an online/offline music community I'm setting up. It's going to be a Creative Commons project based in Reading, England, inviting local creative types to come together and create, remix and publish their work under CC licenses.

Basically the site will need:

Drupal and SMF (Simple Machines Forum)

Hello all,

I'm quite new to the world of Drupal and I don't have any experience with it, so I hope you guys can help me out.
