Before you start

I'm trying to figure out the difference between a blog and a forum post, and why I should have either, or both on my community website. Any suggstions, or a general clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Whereas i have found that Xaraya can do a lot.

I want to know if Drupal can do the following.

1). Display Small Blocks which should be arranged in any order in the website.
For e.g. left column, right column, Center and inside the main Center Block i need (Center - Center ) , (Center - Left) and (Center -Right ) etc. etc.

Hello all, I am trying yet another application to handle my main site.

I run a fairly successful forum site right now that is based on vBulletin technology and am very interested in Tamarian's integration.

I run a videogame forum and like any large forum only sites we want to branch out into an actual site. Right now we are using Subdreamer, but it has a lack of some features that we really need to make our site stand out.

namely we are looking for a great front page to paste all the current video game happenings to. Users could submit news, and really we just want it to look professional. Maybe a navigation column down the side and the latest news with short descriptions and images on the home.

We'd also like to be able to create polls that users could vote on using the vbulletin integrated accounts.

What we eventually want to do though is reviews. We'd like to create a page that has sections for things like Xbox 360, Gamecube, Playstation 2, PC and have a review for each game that is linked to that.

Honestly I can tell this is going to be alot of work to get it the way we want it, but do you believe that Drupal is versatile enough for what I am hoping to achieve?

Or does anyone have any good examples of sites that post news, and use a reviews system?

I just figured out how to add a flash header into the page.tpl.php page. However, I now have this empty space between the header and the rest of the content on the page. How can i fix this?

I need to build a site that consists almost entirely of a number of small (3-5 page) teacher/class sites. Each teacher must be able to maintain their own class calendar, upload files to their own album/gallery and run a news page on their "site." Is this something Drupal can support? Are there modules (plugins?) already created that will help me build this? I have limited experience with CMS but can usually get by with the help of some documentation or tutorials. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
