Hey folks. I think I have chosen Drupal for my website`s CMS. What I would like to do, is install it in its on folder at first on my website, change my html content that I have now into my new drupal CMS, and then move it to the "root" when I have done so.
What issues would I have to look at in doing this? I have created the database for Drupal, so that is ready to go.
I work for a large international non-profit organization and seek to integrate our existing mess of 40+ websites in one CMS. I can tell you this is going to be an interesting undertaking :)
Based on a test installation and review of documentation, Drupal seems to offer all we want a CMS to do (and more..): subsites based on specific keywords (taxonomy), rights management and workflow for submission, editing and approval of content (workflow), and - in the end - creating subcommunities and the integration with contact management (CiviCRM).
I have seen some talk about multisite installations of drupal so you can have several distinct sites with different looks and ulrs ( www.site1.com, www.site2.com, etc). What I am wondering is if there is a way to have an intergrated search between all the sites, so when I search on site1.com, it returns results for site2.com and site3.com as well as site1.com.
I operate a financial subscription website and am planning on revamping the site and am considering using drupal. Can it handle multiple subscriptions - like having 3 or 4 subscriptions. One person can subscriber to A but not B or A C and but not B for instance?
when i install xammp.... it asks me if i want to install mysql and apache as a service.... do i install it as a serve?... sorry but i am new to all this... thank you
