how first start Drupal on eMac 10.3?

Who can help me start first use of Drupal on our eMac (1.25GHz-256Mb) running OSX 10.3.9?
Lately I have been all "pre installation questions", without success I have tried to get Drupal working, who can direct me in right direction?
(When I read in "Handbooks"tab, I see much technical stuff)
Kind regards, a mac-user.

Will Drupal be suitable to replace my current Xoops site?

Hi

Basically I'm looking to change from my current Xoops site to Drupal and need to know if it will meet my needs:

News module where I can post of latest company news
Basic and simple forum
Form Builder so that I can create custom forms
Support/Ticket system so that I can track support cases
Polls
Simple ecommerce module
Document management system where I can store company documents and users can download them
A module which allows me to create a company operational manual

Can I use the same content module multiple times...

I have a site now that hosts online automotive learning groups. Each group is themed and is moderated by an expert in the theme of the group. For example there is a Honda Learning Group, a Hybrid Learning Group, etc. You can view the site at http://www.autotech-elearning.com/forum/fusionbb.php

Each learning group needs its own forum, articles section, bookmark/directory, etc.

Can I do this with Drupal?

Thanks in advance for your help on this question!

Question about Drupal solution for web hosting business.

Hi there,

I have a web hosting business.
Currently I have 20 customers, the business management is made by excel files.

I would like to upgrade my services, I worked once with drupal and liked it very much, so I think a drupal solution will feet best my needs.

Before I'll continue with the installation I have some questions about modules and features:

With Drupal, can I control forum access via paid subscriptions?

A complete N00B here. I am using a discussion forum type software now, but I need some of the additional features like are offered by Drupal (authoring, bookmarks etc)

The main think I have to be able to do is to control forum access via subscription. With Drupal will I be able to use a group permissions scheme to control access to forums based on a person's subscriptions.

One site, two areas (private and public).

Hey guys :)
