Need Data for Infograph

I am trying to create an infograph about Drupal showcasing its strengths and advantages, especially showing how it has grown since it's inception, numbers of modules and themes by year possibly, ect... or any other Ideas I may not have thought of. I am not a Drupal user myself(yet), so if anyone has any Ideas I would be welcome to them. If anyone has any good links to data or any data or know anyone who would have this information it would be a great help.

Thanks,

Drupal API - how to change the node and specify a taxonomy?

Good morning Drupal community.
Tell me, is there a way through the drupal api to change the contents of an existing node and its additional CCK-fields?
And another question - how to set a specific term (already available) to create a dictionary node through node_save.
Thank you.

Website Coding Question

this doesn't directly relate to drupal, but how do i get an effect like http://ubuntu.com

how there is like a background then a white space like where all the text is and everything is. i thought if i add a margin, it might not be the same on everyone screen meaning some parts will be off the "white area". and if i center it, some parts might fall off. so what should i do? i'm using zen if that helps you,
