When I go to administer > content it shows a list of all the nodes, however some of them have a red stars next to them. What is this for?

One of the main reasons I was attracted to Drupal was some reports I read about how well it stood up under extreme traffic. So far, I haven't really used it for any heavy traffic sites but I intend to.

Is it possible to run drupal as a file sharing/transfer system for registered users something like hotscripts.com are there any examples out there.

new to drupal. running mac osx 10.4.1. used safari, camino, netscape, AND internet explorer. also deleted browser cache from all.
installed drupal using my web host's cpanel fantastico.
entire install went ok, EXCEPT that when i click under admin and themes, i get an error message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare xtemplate_node() (previously declared in drupal/themes/xtemplate/xtemplate.theme:54) in drupal/themes/engines/xtemplate/xtemplate.engine on line 39
