This forum is for less technical discussions about the Drupal project, not for support questions.

Example code forum / repository / wiki

I am new to Drupal. Still working on my first site. I have worked through a lot of the documentation but in many ways I am still a little lost. I know that the more I use Drupal the more I will understand, and before using Drupal or reading any of the Handbooks all I read in all the reviews was that Drupal is a steep but worthwhile learning curve.

That is why I would like to know what other members feel about the idea of code repository almost like the modules section or even a new forum section. Where members can contribute code of theirs without having to contribute or GPL their entire theme.

I know I learn best playing with code and through example. But I have a hard time doing it form scratch because I don’t know what all can be done.

Maybe what I am looking for is a tutorial section. I am not to shure. I understand there is a Theme development forum for discussing the development of themes and what I am preposing must not undermine that or the Module development forum.

Drupal is able to have php in any piece of content, box, menu or phpTemplate theme and I found some nice block code scattered through out the administrators handbook. So that is why I thought of the idea of a place where people could contribute bits of code not just full modules or themes and comment on it. Even a wiki would work well, I think.

What you think. Just a idea from someone t

how to create menu, like ...

We've tried a lot. Please - how?

Thank you!

P.S. how to create it in drupal, of course :)

Drupal.org Against EU Patents?

I am wondering is Drupal.org willing to put up something against patents in the EU? Check this out for more details:

bookmark own project/documentation

Hello,

My question: How can I bookmark, or make a list of all the pages I am currently working on?

The documentation is lacking in many ways. As I look for information, I try to start a few pages to gather what I've found on a single documentation book page for each topic, so that future users can find quicker the information.

For example, there's a lot of info about phpBB, but it is very dispersed. I am going to work on the following page:

Migrating from phpBB
http://drupal.org/node/24633

Also, I didn't find the information on multisite configuration where I expected I would. More information can be written about it than what exists in INSTALL.txt, so I tried to gather relevant info here:

Multisite / single code base configuration
http://drupal.org/node/363#comment-45512

Likewise, there doesn't seem to be part of the doc relevant to internationalization (or I haven't found it yet), so when I do find the information, I'd like to put it all in the same place within the doc for future users to look at, either by starting a new page, like I did for phpBB, or by putting everything in a comment at the appropriate page.

The ideal would be to be able to create a page within our "user space" that we would be able to edit at will, with list to pages of interest, projects or doc pages we work on.

There is a text area called Drupal contributions at
http://drupal.org/user/###/edit/Drupal

Module page freeze

Hi there, after successfylly installing several different modules, the modules page will not load if i try to install a new one. I've tried many different ones, so it's not the modulefiles that makes the complication. Is there a limit to how many modules one can have? Is or have anyone experienced similar?
