My comments on Drupal, after 1 week

Drupal is very powerful but very frustrating. Here are my thoughts as a very new user:

The future of awTags

Hi all,

First off, we've had a little bit of excitment over at autowitch.org. First there was the flood. I think the cable that connected autowitch.org to the rest of the world is somewhere in the Arkansas river.

After recovering from the flood damage, the site got hacked. I'm in the process of recovering things now. They made quite a mess.

I was approved for a CVS account, so awTags (and some other things that hopefully you all find useful) will be moving over.

My short term plans for awTags include:

1) Integration with the folksonomy module.

If you were redesigning Google, how would you do it?

Virtually every search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc) uses the same results page these days. You know, an underlined title that is slightly bigger than the body text, then info text on the line immediately below it.

But if you were designing the results page for a search engine, how would you do it?

I'd like to see some examples of anyone's work. Its really just a few lines of text, and it would be cool to see. I can't imagine search engines looking the same forever.

Limit search by node type?

Is there any way to do this? For example, lets say I want to ONLY search stories and nothing else, or I only want to search forum topics and nothing else. How can I accomplish this?

Thanks

Ecademy and the GPL

With regard to this previous discussion... http://drupal.org/node/23395

I finally managed to ask Thomas Power, Chairman of Ecademy about their offer of a white label.

Until presented with the evidence of his own words, he denied it.

Well, you can read it for yourself.
