I am in the process of building a new site:

I have already installed a whole bunch of modules. I am already excited about Drupal 4.7 but I am worried about all the modules. Will the current modules be functional under 4.7?
Will the database have to be changed?

I've been trying out the organic groups module and am trying to decide whether to use it on my website. I think I understand pretty much how it works, but it looks like the interface might be confusing to end users.

Is there already a module extant that will email users (preferably only users who've turned on an option!) when new comments are posted on posts they've written or as replies to comments they've written? Basically similar to LiveJournal's comment notifier?

I'm pretty sure it'd be easy enough for me to write if there isn't one, but I don't want to duplicate effort if somebody's already got it.
