I can't activate the polls and I want it to put on the right side menu I've been using the default themes of drupal, I can't also create polls? Anyone please help me?

I have created a page called About Us. Here is the inputs I typed in.

1. Clicked on Create Content > Page

2. Kept author and top part as is. But I did fill this out.
- Title: About Us
- Body: This is the about us section.
- Selected "Filtered HTML"
- Select "Submit" button

Ok...easy enough - I want to add this to the main navigation.

1. Clicked on administer > menus

2. Clicked on - add menu item

I'm really looking into jumping into open source developement especially along the lines of web site design and most likely a few applications. Basically what I'm wondering is 'what' did you developers learn (php, etc) where you learned it (school,self thought,etc) and basic info like that.
So just a little guide on how I go about learning all this.
My current experience is basically is basically just using Joomla as thats easy enough for me, I did a few mods on my sites but nothing special. Very Much Appreciated.

I just realized that I had no idea how the drupal.org uses this much vaunted feature on its own site. Is there a place I can see an overview? Perhaps a screenshot?

I'm making a web in drupal but I have a very special problem.

When I try to register as a superuser throught my LAN but with the HTTP protocol (internet) I obtain to register but if I do this throught the internet I can´t: drupal response me with the same screen but without the user and pass that I put it.

i searched all the drupal site but i did not get any type of presentation like PPT or
flash presentation and i am not able to get presentation(flash OR ppt) on CMS also
can u help me....
