I'm getting really tired of the attitude from project maintainers and the like when users ask basic questions that we believe are necessary to ask about a module or process or procedure. A common response is: "This is abuse of the issue queue for this module" http://drupal.org/node/1474180 .
Well, guess what! Drupal is not a refined search engine and the Documentation and support is spread out to the point answers are hard to come by. So, if you're a relative newbie (2 years in) like me it becomes a very daunting process, and to get chewed out by more experienced Drupal programmers who believe we're only asking 'dumb questions' only hurts the Drupal community going forward. If project maintainers don't want to handle what they believe to be non-essential questions of their modules then maybe we should create a window pane underneath the issue queue of their module called, "non-essential issues" where the more common folks like myself can get answers!
Does anyone have a suggestion for the following situation. I would greatly appreciate anyone's advise or wisdom because I've been trying to figure this out for a while.
I have a node type and I'd like to create a Featured Section on my front page that will rotate through those node types on a pre-defined time period ex. once a week or once a month etc..
I've look at the modules Nodequeue and Featured Content, although they sound like the logical choice they are not exactly what I'm trying to accomplish - unless someone can explain to me otherwise.
I am looking at offering a service that is downloaded from a Drupal Website.
Can someone tell me if there are/is module(s) that allows visitors to the site to download files?
I didn't know where should i post it, so i posted it here. Someone is deleting my posts after some hours i write them. I don't know why does he think. Maybe he thinks i am spammer or something like that. But none of my posts were spam. I am really angry of it. These kind of moderators make this forum terrible. I don't know why this forum is like that. Here is the worst community i have ever seen in my life. I thought drupal is great and has professional members. But i didn't know that my posts will be deleted for no reason.
Hi.
I'm looking for some career advice with regards to Drupal and make a couple of decisions early on. One of these decisions that I struggle with at the moment is: do I learn one or more php frameworks and develop some websites with those; or do I put all my efforts in learning Drupal. The first websites will probably be very small ones. I'm inclined to go with Drupal from the beginning. I'd be glad to hear your opinions and experiences here.
