CivicSpace sounds like the ticket for my customer. However, their website seems to be mostly non-functional. Is this distro still being developed? Anything related to downloading is 404. All the content I *can* get to is about a year old. What gives people? (I know this isn't exactly the right place for this msg but there isn't even a functional mailto:)
I have moved my site to a new server. What I did export DB and import it back to new DB. I have about 600 users. The problem is when to create new account, user id start from again from less than 600. It gave error as duplicated entry in users table. How can I fix this problem. please help.
I've read a lot of discussion about using a single login to have access to multiple subsites/forums/domains which is about creating community. But I'm missing the discussions about how to have a single login go to a specific subsite, AND NOT have rights to any other, which is about exclusivity. Here's the scenario:
I want to setup a site with multiple private areas. Each area has its own set of content, categories and users. Content of individual areas are accessible to members only unless shared by the creator or leader. The public site would use the Drupal functionality as is.
For want of a better example, I create a website called ComputerOS.com. Within the site there are a public area, a Linix area and a Windows area. The area leaders can create a set of categories, invite members, manage the content of his area and share the area's content to the public site.
My horizontal navigation looks something like this:
Animals | Plants | About us | Contact
Each category has submenus as they are organized like books with subpages (apart from 'Contact'). So clicking on 'Animals' for example will bring up a vertical menu nested in a block containing something like 'Cows, Birds, Insects etc.'
