Some ideas on how to improve drupal

First of I want to say that I'm a php programmer since 2005 and I have always created my CMS's from scratch.

I've just started testing with Drupal and I find it extremely confusing how you mix the site management stuff with the admin management stuff, for example the dashboard should definitely not be the first item.. I mean how often will I configure my admin buttons and users and how often will I edit my site.. come on..

Drupal mobile app

Hello

I maintain free drupal application for iphone, see drupal.md for details

I am going to start on upgrading it to drupal 7 as well as publish sources and create android version as well.

Would be nice to have a designer who can make good looking ui in drupal style. Psd for retina display will be required. If you a designer and ready to contibute your time and skills, post to this thread, or contact me directly

Thanks

how to use 'Search Engine Referer' terms

Hi

I was wondering if there is any support for search engine referers. It would be very nice to define a filter in Views using referer terms. Is this possible ?

If not, are there any modules that can help, or maybe some other tips how to do this would really help!

Cheers
Luca

CK-ERP v.0.31.1 released with Drupal 7.12 connector

Hi, folks,

I have posted a new release, v.0.31.1, of CK-ERP, at SourceForge.Net, http://sourceforge.net/projects/ck-erp .

New features include,
Support for Mysqli
Support for Sqlite3
Portuguese translation
Korean translation
Japanese translation
Hindi translation
Indonesian translation
Vietnamese translation
Russian translation
Updated Chinese translation
Updated Spanish translation
Updated French translation
Updated German translation
Relaxation of restriction on display language must be the same as installation language

As far as I can determine, a Drupal+CK-ERP environment is most useful to teachers, school administrators and other educational professionals. While Drupal supports the front-end web communication between teachers and students, CK-ERP provides facilities to manage administrative and backoffice routines of the school. All these happen within the familiar Drupal processing environment.

structure of administration in Drupal7

I don't see the logic of some of the new structures and names of the drupal administration. some parts I even find irritating.
I expect a top menu Item to gather items divided into more specific groups. It is always good to make things as specific and clear as possible also in a top name because it creates expectations on what's below.

- why suddenly "People" in stead of "Users"?? Do I find all 7 billion people there? Do we find sub-directories with different ethnical groups? No, thank goodness, only users in drupal, so...why call it People and not users?

- why name a menu item "appearance" when there's only theme-things in it? If appearance is gathering settings to adjust the looks, then it also could contain image styles to give an example. Just call it "themes", if that's what it is.

- Under structure there's a link to settings: settings of what? of views. why not put it under settings/views or below views/settings

- content: that's where I'd look for a button to add content, or import..., but no...

- Why is content types under structure and not under configuration or content, especially when content seems to be mostly views so content types look a bit lost there.

For anyone having weight problems in ubercart...

So, I doubt anyone else would ever make a mistake so simple, but just in case anyone as new to Drupal as I am makes the same mistake:
