Forum functionality

I am just started to learn Drupal and am interested in features for forums. I run a couple of forums using other php-based software, and am looking for alternatives as I find them to be either too simple, or too complex. One of the main features that is very popular on one of my forums is the ability for the user to upload images (not hosted, like Photobucket for example. I can see that this is existing functionality) and adding links to videos, embedding the video in the post. Is this existing functionality with Drupal ? Where do I learn about the forum functionality ?

Drupal 6 Core and Managing News

I'm hoping this is the right place to post this as it is pretty much a "hope you can" rather than "must have" question.

I have an existing Drupal 6 site on which I want to include sections for various types of news feed. I have found the Managing News profile from Development Seed and like it so much I would like to achieve either of two things:

a. Integrate Managing News' capabilities into Drupal 6, basically because I'm really taken by the look and feel, management of Managing News.

or

What HTML is allowed in t()?

I've searched for an hour for a definitive answer to this question and, though I've learned a lot about t(), I still don't know what exactly is and isn't allowed.

I read that it is common to use <em> and <a> tags, but what about &nbsp; or &quot; ?

I have messages like this...

OContext Invitation

Hi!

I'm trying to drum up support in the Open Source community for the creation of a web services data context standard. My hope is we can create a standard context for different systems or sites to request/transfer data. OContext is not intended to supersede or control context on individual systems, it is merely intended to be a common language between systems.

Conflicts and collaboration within DO

Dear Drupalers,

I am doing a brief essay for a possible Master's research on how "conflicts and collaboration" are addressed in virtual communities and I would like to use drupal.org as study case.

Looking for Drupalist willing to help us with international community website for plastic scale modellers

Hello everybody,
is here among you one (or more) plastic scale modeller or at least a fan of this hobby to help me with the set up of a new all-in-one international community website?

For the moment, it would be at the voulunteer basis, maybe in the future (I hope so) it will generate some money to pay the programmer(s).

Some details:
- it will be based on Drupal 7
- main modules: Organic Groups, Feeds, Autopath, some evaluation module, lot of Views, Flattr + Donate modules, Forum, small Wiki,... + of course i18n, transliteration,...aso. + adapting some templates and the theme (Pixture Reloaded)

- For the moment it will start in English, French and Czech. More languages will hopefully follow.
- by "all-in-one" we mean: model database, (p)reviews, galleries, club pages, events, forum, user interconnection, inrerviews+reportages, polls, producers database and presentation, contests,...

The structure of the web, part of the content, "marketing" and lot of contacts are ready.
This is a real project: I worked already hundreds of hours on it, the domain is acquired, webhosting as well.
It's just that I can't do all the set up by myself - my knowledge of Drupal is not good enough for setting up all the details...
