I'm curious to see why other people chose Drupal over other providers just like them. (Wordpress, Joomla, etc.)

I joined Drupal more because I found them first. Why did you choose them?

Web security is really expensive!

$300 a month one place I looked wanted.

I'm thinking more around the $20-$50 range. Maybe I'm wrong.

What would you pay?!

I assume you all dont want trolls on this community based platform , so i was just wondering how i could delete my account and do all of you a favor ?

Dear Drupal community

I'm working on my final thesis, which is a comparison of 6 CMS. One of them is Drupal.

I'm now looking for at least 10 persons who would take a few minutes to answer my questions on Drupal. I have already post a request but no one has answered so far. Maybe that's because I was using xls. I've now transfered my questions to Google Forms hoping that's more successful.

My problem is not technical.
Here goes .. I wish to provide paid Drupal Support to anybody who seeks help and willing to pay for it.

Strategy is to register a domain, such as getdrupalsupport.com or drupalsomethingelse.com etc, and build the site to attract customers overtime. I have registered a good domain but am reluctant to move forward after visiting drupal.com.

On sub pages, Dries Buytaert talks so much about trademarks & copyrights that I'm not sure if anyone would be allowed to register any domain with the term "Drupal" in it.

I am pretty new on Drupal. Starting with a student project that translated the local news into 100 character abstraction in Chinese, now I am thinking to make the second and third similar web site. The current one is done with Wordpress . However, my developer says that seems like wordpress might have the limitation to implement what I want:

1. This is essentially a local news web site, with maybe 3-6 new posts per day under local news. We do want to support the community by adding the features such as yellow page, the ad bulletin board, and can also allow users to login and then blog on it. Once the common interest show up, maybe we can combine the hot topics into another category.

2. users registered through the sub website can only have access to that subsite (city1.MainSite.com). However, super admin of the main web site can assign him the role in different web site.

3. We hope that there is a news pool. It is essentially a list of links. The links are added in by the local teachers, with the information like which subsite(s) this link be used in.

4. Students login and based on the assignment, he can see the links of the sub site(s) that he is in charge. He pick up a link from the pool and do their reading and write abstraction.
