Hi, im rather new to Drupal and this might be a rather trivial question but none the less. Assuming that i use Drupal and multiple modules to build a website, am i allowed to charge for it? do i need to provide reference/links? (i know it open source but i just want to be on the safe side, on knowing what i can and can not do).Thanks.
Hello,
I’m currently a senior at James Madison University and have been doing web design since I was 14. I’ve had such a passion with it that I started my own web design company. This ultimately led to be one of the first student teachers at JMU. I am teaching a class on CMS’s specifically Joomla and Magento (although not a true CMS it fits the bill). Although this is a massive undertaking I’ve decided to take it one step further.
I am building an online interactive learning system. Much like many of the tutorial sites out there but meant to be more community based. I will be providing step by step lessons using screen recording tools. I’ve also providing great community support through forums and a yahoo q/a style system. I am currently building out this system but have started a kickstarter project to help bridge the gap with funds. I’ve invested incredible amounts of recourses to make this project happen. The ultimate goal is to make it a free community and free tutorials for everyone to learn.
I would simply ask that you spread the word on the campaign! I am looking to get it as well known as possible. The link with more detail is here: http://kck.st/LXUl9c We simply ask if you have free time to spread this concept to your users! We know it would be beneficial for everyone to learn a CMS especially in todays culture where everything is becoming web based.
We are new to Drupal and like it a lot but a bit confused about the directory structure and how much we may change it.
We presently have addresses like this:
oursite.com/drupal/common/index.html
Why the "common" directory? I don't actually see it in our FTP window. Where does it come from? Can we take all of our files and put them at the root of "oursite.com"?
Any suggestions on where to read up on this? Have been searching greatly but nothing found that answers the questions.
I got one problem with my a bit non typical needs and from this point of view it's a Drupal bug.
I have 1 website where i use just 1 language and all content is in that language, but in future (1-5 years later) maybe i will add more languages and i want to be ok with SEO and Google for future.
We have decided to migrate our Joomla 1.5 site (tntech.edu) to Drupal 7 and, being unfamiliar with Drupal, I've been watching the Drupal 7 Essential Training videos on lynda.com. I've just watched the section on menus and the impression I have from that is all the menus in Drupal have to be manually created and organized. Is this true? Can menus not be dynamically created based on the content hierarchy the way MODx does? Manually creating 100000+ menu items may well be a show-stopper for me.
I'm new to this framework and excited about learning and sharing.
As my first dive in project I have decided to start playing around and learning with a distribution.
Which distribution will be similar to the adsense platform where I can create text links for different customers and then have it create a widget or an html code they can post in their site.
Also, I would like to track click thorughs and/or sales receiving a percentage of the sale in my ubbercart account.
