NEW HERE.

HI guys and girls, just thought i would say hi all.
New to Dupal and CMS in general have worked with Linux and done many basic courses in PHP/MYSQL/CSS/APACHE/ ECT.
Good friend of mine put me onto this site due to me wanting to run an E-COMM website and going to pay for a Linux server in London within a few weeks, so anyway, good to be here, hope to get stuck in very soon.

Jam.

Roundup of essential D6 contrib. modules. Thoughts?

Hello, I've put together a list of modules to keep on hand when developing a new site using Drupal 6.

ESSENTIAL CONTRIB. MODULES

QUALITY OF LIFE MODULES

How to make drupal module development and site building experience at least 100% more efficient.

I came on here to gripe about the time I and others waste going down exactly the same route.

This is a typical situation for many!
I have spent a week looking for a solution (video in my case) – so many options – so many bugs – so much configuration – so much incompatibility and so little documentation.

Delay, delay ,delay, frustration....

I lose so much time wondering is it me or is it the modules or is it both when all I want is a simple stable solution that others use and is tried and tested.

I think when people find a combination of modules that works after working through all the gotchas they don’t have the right state of mind or time to write down their exact setup and then start the real documentation ie document host setup, drupal version and module used and their version numbers etc!!!! before they start giving advice about how to set things up correctly.

Anyway griping serves no purpose unless you have a solution.

This can be fixed. - and its EASY.

ROI would be enormous IMHO. This would save so much time for everyone – worth $$$$$ to drupal.org

Add a form in the user profile to record the users drupal setup details (that can also be visited via the users username so when they post people can easily check their setup).

Implement Structure Guide

any guy know how to implement the directory like Structure Guide in Community Docs home? thanks

Does anyone actually ever use Drupal's IRC Chat feature?

I've been going into the Drupal Chat IRC #drupal-support, but, like, it seems no one is ever there!

Is this true? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Wondering,

twiggy
