I'd like to see drupal.org feature polls in the side bar.
It would make the site more interactive, show off the poll feature, and would also be useful for some things.
For instance, the issue of whether users understand the word "avatar" or not, would be a perfect poll question, suggested choices "Yes", "Yes - but dislike" and "No"
As the Drupal site now plays host to over 120 contributed modules, it's become apparant that we need a new organziation system. Hey, why not use a taxonomy? Here is a schema based on the modules functionality to get the conversation rolling. For the sake of brevity i have not listed all modules.

In order to improve the drupal.org, we need your help indentifying the audience and people's tasks in the site. So what are YOU goals on drupal.org? Just name first things what pop into you head. For better results try to think as free-form as possible and note down your own / your friends / your colleagues experiences.
Word it as "I went to drupal.org lately and wanted to..."
With Drupal 4.4.0 on the horizon, this marks a good time for a new round of website suggestions. In short, is there any way in which our website, http://drupal.org/, could serve you better? Let's try to compile a comprehensive list of both shortcommings and suggestions that we can translate into concrete tasks.
This would be a bunch of code snippets which would give people a starting point for customizing drupal in small, but exciting ways. The admin-defined block area might become the incubator for new modules. But, at the very least, the samples would get intermediate PHP coders like me going.
which Drupal is incorrectly encoding. There should be square brackets around the "0". This caused me about 5 hours of grief this weekend (sorry, I don't know Perl), so it'd be very nice if this could be fixed for others.
