api.drupal.org menu

do not know if this is the correct venue.

The search dropdown in api.drupal.org is helpful. However, the drop down result appears under the list items box located just beneath the search box, rendering it somewhat useless, as many times the search items cannot be viewed as they are hidden behind the this box.

Comments don't immediately show up on posting

I am finding that frequently when I post a comment in the forums here the submission appears to be accepted but when the page returns (nice and speedily these days ;-) ) the comment is missing. If I refresh the page then the comment appears.

Anyone else getting this?

Also had a case today of a comment that has gone missing, and the post (comment) I replied to now appears to have been updated *after* I posted my reply. Could be finger trouble on my part of course (i.e. hit Preview comment instead of Post comment ...)

Drupal 6 beta ? Where ?

Hi,
think about the new visitor to drupal.org frontpage. How could he know that there is a drupal 6 beta running ?

If you want more people to help beta test, there should be a link to the beta on frontpage, or at least to a post about it.

Cordially,
Brakkar

Modules Download page is just horrible!

dear drupies (or whatever the guys active here should be called ;) )

i´m now trying for several months to figure out how i can implement the features i need for our community site.
but these efforts always end up in a big confusion, cause the question which modules to pick cannot be solved.

the main reason for that is, that the presentation of the modules available is ... to be polite ... very poor.

Drupal Showcase improvement thoughts

I'd like to make a suggestion, that has some free marketing benefits.

This Forum has served its purpose fairly well, but I believe we can do better and offer more. I think this would also allow us to also gather marketing penetration and profile data.

The Drupal Website Showcase should grow up and be a CCK Node, with several Vocabs and Terms. The Forum is ok, but we're a CMS house - why not use our own tools to present our user bases and victories.

I'm going to make a few suggestions, but this should probably go to the round table and be hammered out -- in regards to fields, vocabs and terms. It might even be beneficial to lean it towards a Case Study feeling -- if possible.

Suggested layout.

  • Website Name (Text)
  • Website URL (Link)
  • Industry Type (Vocab)
  • Profit or Non-Profit (Select list)
  • Server Type -- shared, virtual, dedicated (Vocab)....
  • Date Opened for business or Converted (date)
  • Drupal Version # (vocab)
  • e-Commerce (Yes/No)
  • e-Commerce System used -- Drupal - 3rd party (Vocab)
  • Number of people on the project (numeric)
  • Previous Structure: Flat HTML, Another CMS ... and so on. - (Vocab)
  • Reasons for picking Drupal (text area)
  • Challenges encountered (text area)
  • Number of 3rd party modules used (number)
  • Custom modifications (text area)

Where's search?!

Can't find search box on drupal.org (was there when I came last time!)
