Drupal 6.x

I'm using XAMPP 1.6.3a as my testing platform.
After installing Drupal 6 with update status enable .. i found that i couldn't get into the administer page.
Reinstalled drupal again with update status disable .. voila i could get in.
Anybody have the same problem here?

Followed all instructions in INSTALL.txt correctly.

Installing on Verio shared hosting 2000 in order to duplicate a client's environment.

Running the install by opening the site for the first time gets this error:

Not Found
The requested URL /global-bin/install.php was not found on this server.

and on the site's error log:

script not found or unable to stat: /usr/local/apache/global-bin/install.php

There are a bunch of folders within the / Folder on my FTP. Where do I put the files? I tried putting them all in my httpdocs folder which is where the index.html file is. I guess that didn't work bc my domain is now blank.

What do i do?

I'm trying to add some ads to my site(http://www.easygeek.org), but I'm having problems. I installed the ShoppingAds module and got an account with them, but that didn't work at all. Then I tried copying and pasting the ShoppingAds code into a block with both partial and full html enabled, but neither one worked. The block would show up and the code would be in the page source, but no ads... what's going on?
