Sidebars keep expanding?

I'm currently trying to use the bluemarlin theme which came with my drupal 6 install. My problem when I try to view my pages with 1024 screen res. the right and left sidebars keep expanding. It's like my page is broken down into 3 regions, the right side, center content area and the left sidebar. No matter what theme I use it seems the pages try to make the sidebars the same width as the content area which makes the site look really bad. Then of course in some themes the sidebars grow off the screen. This is all with IE6. It works ok in Firefox 2.

forever Initializing when Installing Drupal 6

It has been several months but I've installed different versions of Drupal in about 7 domains. However, installing the 6.0 release hasn't been successful for me.

I initially tried updating from a beta version of 6.0b3. When I followed the update procedure and SEEMED to have successesfully completed the process except that Status Report still kept complaining that "Some modules have database schema updates to install." This 'schema update" complaint persisted after multiple attempts to update the databases. I only had core modules installed from the beta versions.

So then I tried deleting the databases, all the Drupal directories and tried re-installing from scratch. I re-uploaded freshly extracted files from drupal-6.0.tar.gz, set the write permissions for the Site directories and files, created a new MySQL database and ran the install. I selected English and ran put in the database information (including the non- LocalHost server).

The progress window said the following were complete:
Choose Language
Verify Requirements
Set up database

But the installer has sat on Install site with the progress bar (barberpole) turning for over 2 hours on each of the 3 attempts. If I break out of the install page,

Trying to rerun update.php gives:

node.tpl.php

any experienced memebers, kindly help me

box.tpl.php

1) what difference box.tpl.php makes if it is added to the theme or not?
2) Can we customise it like node, comment, block by changing the class?
3 how to get box rendered as rounded corners?

Any kind of help would be apreciated

thnks in advance

Hello. I searched around and could not find the same problem I was having. I tried to install drupal 6.0 on my localhost. I tried a couple time and I keep coming up with this issue. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am using 10.5.1, MAMP for my local host

Drupal 6 is great but

This is really not that big a deal but would like to know why the idea was removed.

Back when Drupal 6 was still in the works and was up for testing, I noticed in Blocks there was an extra block field, it was called "Top Content" block. Oppose to the current just "content" which is at the bottom of the page. there was a "bottom content" (current "content") and was also a "top content", which was at the top of the page, below navigation.
