Set Region Content to Block Module Output manually

I am working on a project where I am creating some modules and a custom theme. The theme layout is relatively static -- in other words, there isn't really a whole lot of need to let users (administrator or otherwise) set region content to block modules. However I would like to be able to use block modules. Is there a way to programatically set the region content to the output from a block module? I figured out how to set region content via:

Node url

Hello.

It's there a way to change the node in the drupal url
http://drupal.org/node/add/forum/

to another word?
exapmle:
http://drupal.org/info/add/forum/

Thanks for your help (:

Considering abandoning under-development Mambo site for Drupal

We installed Mambo several months ago on a Linux/Apache server to support the website needs of a small private school. When the project was first begun, the requirements were not well-documented, and the school had an interim principal.

Since that time, a principal has been hired whose only website experience is a fee-for-service product (http://www.crownweb.net) used by his former school. He has had a great deal of angst over behavior of the site (which has never been completed). Though we have tried to work with him, his requirements just don't mesh with typical CMS behavior. Though he's never said it, I think what he wants is Geocities-style site management more than CMS.

For instance, he doesn't like the fact that items on CMS pages "move around" as newer items are added. He wants the welcome message to be the welcome message until it is changed or removed. He wants to put things in a particular place and have them not move. He wants pictures in stories with the text wrapped around them.

The stated goal at the beginning of the project was to have a site where:

a) trusted users could submit articles to the site
b) school officials could review and publish or reject submitted articles
c) teachers could have customized areas for their students to retrieve project and homework data
d) Office staff could manage a calendar

no php

When creating a page/story/block I only have the options to use filtered HTML or full HTML. There is no PHP option, surely there should be.

Drupal coaching/advice (e.g. Multisite and CleanURLs)

We are looking for a person or company that can provide Drupal support and guidance, probably on an ongoing basis. We have good technical staff, so we don't want to hire someone to do sites for us, but are new to Drupal and sometimes need help untangling thorny issues relatively quickly, probably by some combination of email/IM/phone.

Ftp problems

Hello folks,

I've got an interesting problem, just installed Drupal 6.1 as well as the latest version of the flashnode module and in the files directory the is a now a flash directory therein. So all I have I have to do now is upload my flash files to the files/flash directory...easy eh!

But alas no!

I'm using Filezilla for Ftp and have been using it for years, so I doubt the problem lies there. I suspect a problem with the .htaccess file, but the hosting company says that the .htaccess file is the one that comes with Drupal 6 and can offer no further help.

Does anyone have any clue as to what is going on here?

Here's the error for filezilla:

Connected
Status: Starting upload of C:\FLASH UK\anglia.swf
Command: CWD /public_html/files/flash/
Response: 250 OK. Current directory is /public_html/files/flash
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/public_html/files/flash" is your current location
Command: TYPE A
Response: 200 TYPE is now ASCII
Command: PASV
Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (74,86,111,81,158,162)
Command: STOR anglia.swf
Response: 553-Can't open that file: Permission denied
Response: 553 Rename/move failure: No such file or directory
Error: Critical error

The document does exist! I Promise! So what is going on, is there something amiss with the .htaccess file?

I just hope that someone has the answer cos this is driving me crazy!
