Installing Drupal

Hello all,
I'm running into installation issues with D7 and rackspace cloud hosting. The install stops after the language page with this error:

"HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request."

Rackspace doesn't seem to know what this issue is. I've run D6 on Rackspace cloud before without any problems. Any ideas on maybe what the issue is? Thanks in advance.

I recently decided to switch from WP to Drupal as my organization revamps its website, I am currently using GoDaddy.com for hosting and upgraded my php to 5 as is required. I am basically having trouble accessing Drupal after I install. I did both GoDaddy Installation and FTP Installation.

I'm going to try another approach to setting up the database, since the example commands in the "Install Guide, step2 Create the database, Create a database using MySQL commands" didn't work. I can figure out what I need to do if I knew what it was that needed to be done (explained that way, instead of explained as how to do it). The part I don't understand is the "IDENTIFIED BY 'password'" part as shown in step 3. What does Drupal need to be done that this is expected to do?

How have folks dealt with this issue? Appreciate any insights.

After installing drupal i am getting the following error message

please tell me how to over come this i am using drupal6.16.

And after installing drupal the side admin menu is missing from my page here please tell me why this is happening is it related to above error? if so please tell me the way to over come this.

Beginner in Drupal, I try to install the 7 version on my hosting 1and1.

I am stopped on the fourth step : database install.

I have given the next elements :
- Database name : dbXXXXXXXXX
- Database user : dbXXXXXXXXX
- Database password : XXXXXXXX
- Database server : XXXXXXXX
- Port : 3306
- Prefixe table : drupal_

When I submit the form, the error is : SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user ‘dbXXXXXXXX’@’XXX.XXX.XX.XXX’ (using password : YES)
