Installing Drupal

Iam making a drupal site which runs on my localhost using port 8082. I want to upload few themes and modules, I have installed a FTp clent Filezilla, but each time I try to connect it to my localhost via port no.21 and username & paswrd, it shows ERROR CONNECTIONG, CONNECTION TIMED OUT, please help..

I want to upgrade my company's site to D7 this summer, but to justify that upgrade I need to make the way we add content to our site easier. We host an annual conference each year, and the requires uploading the photos and bios of 120 speakers every year.

We do this by manually copying and pasting the bios, and uploading the photos via the "attach file" command and copying the url. I know there is an easier way of doing this via a custom content type, but I can't find the modules online.

When installing Drupal. I said shut the site. and now I can not access the site administration. entry not found the site comes before me. edeseniz help sevinirim. I know very beginner

I'm trying to install Drupal 6 in a language other than English. I've found a video tutorial at http://www.lullabot.com/videos/installing-drupal-translation, but following the instructions there hasn't worked for me.

I have only ever used Drupal as an admin/user, but need to start working with files so that I can edit blog templates etc.

What I wanted to ask was how can I find out what version of drupal I am on and what I need to be able to access and edit site files?

I have people I can ask for logins etc. but I need to know what I need logins for.

Any help will be much appreciated.

This is going to be long but I want to provide specific details on what I've been experiencing.
I'm new to Drupal and am having a lot of trouble moving my site I created using AcquiaDrupal to my webhost at ixwebhosting.com

1. I first started off by editing sites>default>default.settings.php to include this:

(Instructions I've seen said that I should be editing settings.php, but I only see a default.settings.php?)

2. Next, I connected to the webhost via FTP and transferred all the files and folders to the webhost: http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af204/i2aNe/drupal/1.jpg
(Is this correct, or am I supposed to copy over just the "sites" folder: http://i1008.photobucket.com/albums/af204/i2aNe/drupal/6.jpg ?)
