Installing Drupal

i want to port over a drupal commons 6x24 from the local lamp to the webserer.

well what do you say: is this doalbe!? what has to be done - where are critical things. Guess that i have to edid the settings -file. in which line i have to edit the settings file?

hello dear all -

i run a drupal commons and in these days i try to set it up on a new server. well i heard that there were two
htaccess-files.

are there really two fines which are totally the same (equal to each otther - that means - they are identical)

note: the one that is in the drupal - root i have to replace - since this one breaks the installation - at the very
beginning. this htaccess was replaeced by another one -which is shorter and has not as many opitions-

but - lemme know - is there another htaceess in the drupal commons

I'm new in Drupal. I need an Archive module for my posts to display on the front page. Installed "Archive 7.x" module, but got abnormal error.

When attempting an aegir install (automated or manual) in Ubuntu 11.10, I repeatedly run into the following error when hostmaster is being configured; despite entering the appropriate database information when prompted:

I've FTP'd the Drupal files to a client's website, http://neverboundpictures.com, via Cyberduck. I've done this a number of times before for other sites and after the install I point my browser to the URL and the install option comes up on the main page. For some reason it's not showing up when I go to my client's site; am I missing something?
