I choose hostgator as the company that I wished to host my site on a shared server using their business plan. They said drupal was fully supported and I have yet to understand how to read all the specs to see if it is what is needed for drupal. Forgive me for being a complete newbe here but the only way I could see how to install it was the 1 click drupal install. It worked great for drupal 7 but I wanted to use one of the community distributions.
Is this possible? I was looking at Open Enterprise but was worried that it hadn't been updated for over a year. This is going to be a community based site with blogs and discussions along with a paid services where users are allowed to sell/trade things.
Here what I thought I'd need:
1) Ability to make user accounts
2) Setup discussions kind like a forum but a little more open with a lot more choices and not blocked cell based. I'm thinking of a more open design that resembles craigslist.
3) A payment system that my host offers for free. I'm not sure if I'd be able to use it with drupal. Again, forgive the newbe question.
4) A slider box that highlights some of what goes on within the community.
