Installing Drupal

I want to syndicate my site.

There is only one problem, the content is mostly in german, so there are lots of umlauts. The format_rss_channel function in common.inc uses htmlentities. This function translates the umlauts into html code (

I`ve posted this problem here: http://drupal.org/node/view/1242 , but when i come again to the website and go to forums --> Usage.... i can`t see it no matter how i display the forum. I was only able to find it again by the archives (and by "active forum topics" on the right), what do i do wrong?

I've been using Drupal for a couple months now, and I love it. Every time I see phpNuke I scoff now.

Well. I just setup a new site for an organization I'm involved with (my 3rd drupal site); however, sendmail isn't operational on the host.

I've looked through some of the source files, but I can't find where it references sendmail. I assume it wouldn't be too hard to switch it to an external smtp host. I'll have to brush up on my PHP though.

If someone could point me in the right direction, for them much gratitude would I have.

This is PHP related. With one ISP, Drupal works fine. On another (same PHP version and Apache) the action path for forms has a / inserted before it - thus: action="/module.php?mod=user ...." etc (the first ISP's version of this would simply be action="module.php?mod=user ...." etc

Where does this slash come from? It seems to originate from the www interpretation of $HTTP_HOST. Is there a setting I can include in .htaccess to exclude the slash from the path?

New stories used to be automatically trimmed so that the front page didn't contain the entire node content.

However, with CVS, everything gets put into the BODY filed of the DB it seems, and so I have to manually copy the first couple paragraphs and manually insert them into the NODE table of the DB.

What broke between 4.1 and CVS?

I`m using Drupal 4.0.0 and since Monday i have a very strange behaviour:

6 Users, always the same and not in any way related to each other, appear in the "who is online"-list in exactly the same minute. Also in admin-->usermanagment one can see that minute as "last access". What can that be? A Webrobot who is following links?
I`m the only admin, so a modification of the userdata by one can be ruled out as cause.

Nothing changed in my settings or in the cronjobs, it just started on monday, at random times.......any ideas?
