We are actively working on Persistent URL in D10 now and have been through D8 and D9.

We had briefly used our fork https://github.com/openscholar/purl-d8 but were able to get our changes back into the freelock https://github.com/freelock/purl-d8 repo and we continue to open PR's there. Others like https://github.com/ethosce/purl-d8 have forked our repo and are making good changes but lack the unified place to contribute.

We are committed to working to maintain purl since our business depends on it and want to unify the many small forks and assure compatibility with the group_purl module. On which we are already maintainers.

We make use of both the domain and path prefixes profited by purl as well as group activation. We commit to maintaining only D10 going forward and while we have loved the 7.x branch no longer will provide updates there.

@rbrandon I am interested in purl for Drupal 10. Do you already have a working version?

rbrandon’s picture

We are currently running on D10 with our updated version. I will post that branch when approved or if it lingers more than a week further will find a way to get it to you if that works for your timeline. right now there are several patches applied off of an updated freelock branch so would be cleaner if I can get things consolidated.

All the people with the Administer maintainers permission logged in at least once in the past year. I am going to contact all of them.

Thanks avpaderno, I did not contact them all so that would be helpful.

Title: Offering to Maintain Persistent URL » Offering to maintain Persistent URL

This is the message I sent to febbraro.

Hello Frank,

I am contacting you because Richard (https://www.drupal.org/u/rbrandon) offered to become maintainer for Persistent URL (https://www.drupal.org/project/purl), a project for which you are project owner and maintainer.

May you post a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3473363 about accepting or declining the offer? Please do not reply via email; we need a reply on the offer issue.
Without a comment posted on that issue in the next 14 days, Richard will be probably made maintainer.

Project moderators will not remove the existing maintainers/co-maintainers; the project owner will not be replaced either. Maintainers cannot change the project owner; co-maintainers/maintainers can only be removed/added by people who have the permission to administer co-maintainers/maintainers.

As last note: This offer is about being maintainer, which for us means somebody with all the drupal.org permissions on the project: Write to VCS, Edit project, Administer maintainers, Maintain issues, Administer releases. A person who does not have all those permissions is a co-maintainer.
If there is any reason for not giving Richard all those permissions, please explain that on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3473363.

I am contacting all the people who can administer co-maintainers/maintainers for the project.

Best regards,
Alberto Paderno

The status has been changed because we are waiting for a reply.
Please post a comment after 14 days, if your offer has not been declined. It will show you are still interested in maintaining this project and it will serve as reminder an action is required for this offer.
