Problem/Motivation
When using the new Gin Theme the moderation sidebar is not displayed anymore. This is due to the non display of the secondary toolbar when your are outside the backend theme.
Steps to reproduce
Install new gin theme and gin_toolbar, go to a frontend theme page. The status is not displayed and the toolbar doesn't show up.
Proposed resolution
Move the status bar to main Navigation

BerdirAlso noticed this, but I do expect that this would be quite a lot of work and would need to be completely optional of course, without changing the existing look. The whole look and behavior would likely need to be redesigned to fit the Gin toolbar (expand on left side when using default sidebar and so on).

hctomSince 8.x-3.0-beta2 there is an option in the Gin theme now to enable the secondary toolbar in the frontend.

adam1 CreditAttribution: adam1 as a volunteer commentedIf secondary toolbar is enabled in Gin, the sidebar is displayed correctly in Firefox and Chrome.
Also, the toolbar is correctly displayed in Chrome browser:
But the toolbar is flawed in Firefox:

I did have the icon problem and created a new issue for it. Would be great if anyone interested in a solution can review my fix:

justcaldwellThis issue is resolved by enabling the "Show Secondary Toolbar in Frontend" in the Gin theme settings at /admin/appearance/settings/gin. This setting is available at least as of Gin 3.0-rc1.
Some problems with the Moderation Sidebar icon and toolbar tab responsiveness remain. Those can be addressed by #3324091: Tasks icon CSS not compatible with Gin theme or by installing Gin Moderation Sidebar.
