I'm surprised there aren't more followers on this thread.
Does anyone know:

  • Why Multipage is being removed from the Drupal 8 version?
  • A simple (not needing a custom module) alternative for creating multipage forms in Drupal 8.

Am I missing something obvious?

I contributed the module field group ajaxified multipage on drupal 8, is similar, it needs some refactor, but is stable and works.
Maybe it can be contributed and ported to the main module field group.
