I am not trying to force your hand here, but are you sure you don't mean - "I want to play H.264 video" - or even - "I want to play mp4 video" - or - "Hey, have you heard the word on ogg"?
You should check out flowplayer or any other decent player for embedding web videos - and convert your videos to a better format, a more web friendly format.
You may even want to check out the html5 spec on videos - you can get really fancy and serve up different video formats to different browsers for native support. http://drupal.org/node/865642 would be a good thread to follow.
By all means - do your thing - but don't be surprised to see your bandwidth allocation top out because you are serving up files three times the size that they need to be.

Everything willhall says is true but, assuming you understand the consequences of opting to play wmv video directly from the site, the http://drupal.org/project/video module will play video in whatever format you provide.
Thanks, both of you.
