Varbase - Drupal 9.x

There are still some Issues regarding Webform, Role Assign and a wrong behavior in core, that leads to a situation where translations in modules and views are overwritten by the English source strings.

Further, similar to the umami demo there is no good way for translators to translate sample content/config. The welcome Block on the Homepage View is a great example. So although we tried our best to translate Varbase as good as possible by targeting all modules and dependency modules used in that Distro, we where not able to translate this distribution 100 % to German.

My hope was that the issues preventing us from doing so would be fixed at least until. Drupal 10 alpha, but that was not the case.

So the conclusion without a doubt is:

Drupal's multilingual Support is lagging drastically at he moment and needs to be improved very much. I'll extend that asap with some detailed information.

The Role-Assign thing was fixed in #3091250, today. Webform is still a special thing because au of the yaml stirngs exported to the translation server and implemented in Webform Templaytes. That doesnt affect Varbase as distribution that much, so we can now start reviewing the current 9.x branch of varbase to find some issues we have to fix in 10.x.x then.

This issue will be set to fixed for now. If you find some issues in Varbase regarding to German translations create seperate issues, please. You can allways reference this one as parent issue, of corse.

Many Modules do not have sub Issues, yet so we need to get better with tracking, before we can close that issue again.
