Hi: This project module is for people who want a button in a view header or footer. For example, an "Add" button for adding another item to the view.
This project module enables you to display a configurable button in a view area like the header or footer. The button has a configurable label, destination URI, and permission-based visibility. You could set up an "Add" button to use the Prepopulate module via the configurable URI.
I have searched but I have not been able to find an existing project module that offers this functionality.

PA robot commentedThere are some errors reported by automated review tools, did you already check them? See http://pareview.sh/pareview/httpgitdrupalorgsandboxJonFreed2668216git
Fixed the git clone URL in the issue summary for non-maintainer users.
We are currently quite busy with all the project applications and we prefer projects with a review bonus. Please help reviewing and put yourself on the high priority list, then we will take a look at your project right away :-)
Also, you should get your friends, colleagues or other community members involved to review this application. Let them go through the review checklist and post a comment that sets this issue to "needs work" (they found some problems with the project) or "reviewed & tested by the community" (they found no major flaws).
I'm a robot and this is an automated message from Project Applications Scraper.
JonFreed commentedThe error that @pa-robot referenced in the prior comment has been fixed. Changing back to "needs review".

http://pareview.sh/pareview/httpgitdrupalorgsandboxjonfreed2668216git No automated test cases were found, did you consider writing Simpletests or PHPUnit tests? This is not a requirement but encouraged for professional software development.
Manual Review
I created a page in views and try to add button in header. I used same default values in button form. When I try to accee the page, I'm getting this error
Fatal error: Call to a member function id() on a non-object in /var/www/html/drupal83/modules/view_area_button/src/Plugin/views/area/ViewAreaButtonArea.php on line 120
please add Views module as dependency
The starred items (*) are fairly big issues and warrant going back to Needs Work. Items marked with a plus sign (+) are important and should be addressed before a stable project release. The rest of the comments in the code walkthrough are recommendations.

JonFreed commentedItems #1 and #2 in @manikaprasanth's review have been fixed and addressed. Thank you, @manikaprasanth for the review!
Changing from "Needs work" to "Needs review".
NOTE: The automated review by pareview.sh has started to report the following "error" in the file "ViewAreaButtonArea.php":
However, I have not been able to find any reason for this error or any way to fix it. Also, I did a test review of the latest 8.x code for the popular "devel" module and it also has this error all over the place. I'm not sure it's a valid error. It doesn't show up when I run the latest version of the Coder module that I have installed locally. If it is a real error, then I would appreciate advice on how to fix it.
klausiThat is a real error since coding standards are changing with #2304909: Relax requirement for @file when using OO Class or Interface per file. You can fix it by removing the @file doc block in namespaced class files.
JonFreed commented@klausi thank you for that information!
I have removed the @file doc block and committed and pushed the change. Still at status "Needs review".

el1_1el commentedDownloaded the module to a fresh d8 install and it worked fine. Would save people from having to use the custom markup global. Also, code is extremely well documented.
Paraview has only one minor complaint
Automated Review
[Best practice issues identified by pareview.sh / drupalcs / coder. Please don't copy/paste all of the results unless they are short. If there are a lot, then post a link to the automated review and mention that problems should be addressed.]
Note that perfect adherence to Drupal Coding Standard is NOT a reason to block an application, except for total disregard of them. However, modules should follow them as closely as possible.

klausi@el: I think you forgot to change the status. Are there any application blockers left or should this be RTBC?
el1_1el commentedLooks good to me.
JonFreed commented@el, thank you for the review!
If I'm understanding the process correctly, this issue looks ready to be changed by a git admin to status "Fixed" and then my user record could be changed at the following URL so the vetted checkbox is checked?
https://www.drupal.org/user/166985/edit/git
Thank you in advance!
JonFreed commentedHi - I don't mean to bug anybody, but I just wanted to "bump" this because I think it is ready to proceed to "fixed"? (And then my user record could have the vetted checkbox checked?)

el1_1el commentedif it makes you feel any better i'm in the same boat - https://www.drupal.org/node/2690011

mlncn commentedThanks for your contribution! Congratulations, you are now a vetted Git user. You can promote this to a full project.
When you create new projects (typically as a sandbox to start) you can then promote them to a full project.
Here are some recommended readings to help with excellent maintainership:
You can find lots more contributors chatting on IRC in #drupal-contribute. So, come hang out and stay involved!
Thanks, also, for your patience with the review process. Anyone is welcome to participate in the review process. Please consider reviewing other projects that are pending review. I encourage you to learn more about that process and join the group of reviewers.
