Oh wow, I didn't realize that Drupal 8 was so close to release already.

As the head maintainer for Date iCal, i'm afraid that I won't be able to offer my time for porting Date iCal to Drupal 8. My code shop is not planning to upgrade our D7 sites to D8, so I won't be continuing to develop Date iCal outside of fixing bugs for the D7 version.

I'd be happy to take on a co-maintainer to create the Drupal 8 port, who I would then promote to head maintainer.

Hi coredumperror :) Thanks for your reply. I suggest at your earliest convenience to edit that project page and set the "Maintenance status" field to "Seeking new maintainer". On the same project page, if your feel it is necessary, edit the "Development status" field.

I hope the following helps. I contributed the following two tickets for your project. About communicating to the Drupal community that you're welcoming offers from interested co-maintainer(s) to create the Drupal 8 port. Feel really free to edit those tickets to your liking.

  1. Drupal.org project ownership ticket at https://www.drupal.org/node/2874705
  2. date_ical project ticket at https://www.drupal.org/node/2874710

Thanks! I've updated the project status and added a note about seeking a new maintainer to the description.

It would be good to see this moving forward

Thank you for bringing this back to my attention. I had someone lined up as a replacement maintainer, but I seem to have accidentally failed to actually make them a maintainer on the project. Hopefully I'll be able to get that process restarted.

I'm at the point where I need this for a site upgrade, so I'm working on porting this to 8 (and will hopefully have something somewhat functional this weekend). Of course the question I have is would the maintainers like this code here as a start for the 8.x branch, or should I just fork it to a new project?

I am also starting to work on porting the project.
If something has already been done, it would be helpful to share the code.

We also need this for a new project. Any chance of movement on the co-maintainer delegation?

Coredumperror is no longer working on Drupal. Is there a way for new co-maintainers to be added without him/her? It looks like the process is here: https://www.drupal.org/node/251466 .

Looks like RobbMLewis has a sandbox module here: https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/robbmlewis/3025647

Looks like the sandbox only contains an iCal feed for views, no Feeds extension to import iCal feeds like in D7.

For views feeds there is also is also the module Views iCal which has an actively maintained dev release.

Maybe we can join forces and focus on one of the two?

Now that there's a new maintainer for this module as per #2934844-6: new maintainer... is it possible that the sandbox module could be turned into an official 8.x-1.x-dev version? I'd love to help test and debug it.

Sorry I just noticed the comment above mine which is what I've been looking for.

If i get it right, we have

* https://www.drupal.org/project/views_ical to render ical
* https://www.drupal.org/project/migrate_source_ical to import ical

So this can be closed as we have replacements. Feel free to reopen if something ismissing.https://www.drupal.org/project/views_ical
