At Bojhan's suggestion, I'm opening up a core issue to point at front-end tasks for the D8 upgrade UI. The UI is currently being developed in the contrib migrate_upgrade module (to be added to core in #2281691: User interface for migration-based upgrades, hopefully by RC1), so the specific issues are not very visible to those looking for things to sprint on in Barcelona.
Things to know
- In the parent meta issue, I suggest starting at #2281691: User interface for migration-based upgrades, where the UI changes being worked on now are discussed.
- The current design we're aiming at, based on those recent discussions, is documented in a Google doc. Review that for the big picture into which those specific issues fall, and also feel free to comment if you have suggestions for improvement.
- For information on setting up and running upgrades from Drupal 6 or 7 to Drupal 8, see https://www.drupal.org/upgrade/migrate. The documentation is getting some loving this week and is being refined as I type - if you find things that could be clearer, please give feedback at #2561243: [meta] Migration system documentation (or open a sub-issue for more substantial suggestions for changes).
- Besides working on actual code, the big thing we really need is for people to test the upgrade process with real-world sites! If you have a Drupal 6 or Drupal 7 site, please try the upgrade process in a development environment and report any issues you have!

mikeryanJust a note for tomorrow's sprint - I'm on U.S. Central Time (7 hours difference from Barcelona), but will try to get up early and hopefully be in #drupal-migrate and the issue queue to help answer questions early in the afternoon there.
