Hello,
At the moment my media co-workers can create three content types which use pathauto to create matching aliases:
- "News Brief" that shows at mysite.com/media/news-briefs/* (casual general audience news)
- "Press Release" that shows up at mysite.com/media/press-releases/* (PR official channeled news)
- "Partner News" that shows up mysite.com/media/partner-news/* (news from our partners that we share)
All three content types are structured nearly if not completely the same, and now we're adding more related categories of news content.
Should I just keep with this scheme, or is there a way I can rely on a single "article" type and select which alias path to use in a "stupid proof" way?
Thanks for the feedback in advance. :D

Instead of using multiple
Instead of using multiple content types, if they are otherwise the same you could add a vocabulary that represents the news types/sections which does not allow multiple values, make required and enable for the content type use. Then in path auto you can have the path use the term from that vocabulary in the path.
Nice!
Ohhhhhhh. Nice! That never crossed my mind. I'll start playing with it ASAP.
Thanks a ton,
Chris
