Pact has a book "Flash with Drupal" that is worthwhile for two reasons:
1) the obvious one, covers data interchange between flash and drupal (via services) and "flash node content types" (amongst other things.)
2) it covers a strong use case of the services module.
However a STRONG word of warning: in chapter 2, your use of the example code will CRASH unless you turn the service keys OFF. This is in the Errata, but for those who might fall through the cracks, I thought it was worth emphasizing.
Adobe just formally announced Adobe Creative Suite 5 (CS5) product suite, its design and creative workflow software which, among other things includes Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.
Dreamweaver CS5 now supports Drupal CMS, along with Joomla! and WordPress.
The Ultimate Community Site Guide describes all the steps needed to set up a community site in full detail. It's unique in the fact that it has a fully integrated case study Drupalfun, of which all configuration actions are described in full detail. This guide is useful for the beginner, as well as the more experienced user.
In this second edition, additional screen shots and configuration steps for have been added for Panels 3. The rest of the text has been adapted to fit the latest versions of the used modules. Read some reviews.
From the back flap
This second edition contains updated screenshots and action-lists matching the latest modules including Panels 3.
A large number of screenshots will guide the reader through the process of setting up a community site with the Drupal 5 or 6 framework. A number of popular topics, such as profiles, picture and video galleries, maps, messaging, groups, friends etc are discussed.
This is not yet an announcement about a module for Drupal, and so is not announced as a Drupal project. It is an ambitious analysis project that I hope will help improve Drupal8 (it is too late for Drupal7), and will help a wide Drupal audience to better understand Drupal architecture, and selected core Drupal modules. It is necessarily hosted away from http://drupal.org.
I am calling this "downstream" analysis project DrUML (pronounced 'droo-em-el', with intonation like 'U-M-L'.)
Just a heads up that the Drupaltoys.com website is going to launch very shortly, and I've prepped a Twitter and Facebook page to announce launch and stock levels as and when!
The Drupal Toys will all be made by my hand, and I can't wait to start getting them into yours!
Exaltation of Larks and the Los Angeles Drupal group are happy to offer the Drupal community a 25% discount code towards Path Finder by Cocoatech. Path Finder is an awesome file manager that we at Exaltation of Larks find invaluable for our development work. It's a complete drop-in replacement for the Apple Finder on Mac OS X that makes the Finder look like it was made for children by Fisher-Price.
The discount code is LADRUPAL and it will work until the end of April, 2010. Neither Exaltation of Larks nor LA Drupal get any kickbacks from this promotion. It's purely an offer to the Drupal community to make people's work easier.
