Drupal 7.0 Alpha 5 released

Update: Drupal 7.0 Alpha 6 is available now!

Our fourth Drupal 7 alpha version was released just over a month ago. Today, we're proud to announce the release of the fifth alpha version of Drupal 7.x for your further testing and feedback. The first alpha announcement provided a comprehensive list of improvements made since Drupal 6.x, so in this announcement we'll concentrate on how you can help ensure that Drupal 7 is released as soon as possible and is as rock solid as the previous Drupal releases that you've grown to love!

This release includes many critical bug fixes, especially around the upgrade path, security issues, JavaScript, performance, and other areas.

Please see the release notes for more details.

When will alpha become beta?

We have identified several "beta blocking" issues, and itemized these at the Drupal core community initiatives page. On or about June 21, 2010 we will create a new official Drupal 7 release. If this list is fixed, it will be a beta release. Otherwise, it will be another alpha release. It's expected we will have a few beta versions and at least one release candidate before Drupal 7.0 is finalized. We can potentially reach beta next month by focusing on this short-list of issues! Please help!

Ubercart theme ST Quena for high tech ecommerce stores

Theme summary

Ubercart theme ST Quena is our new ecommerce theme. It has a very eye catching color with the combination of black and yellow. Contrast colors, rounded corner and two-column layout can look really awesome for high tech products such as cameras, laptops, TV plasma and more. It also comes with another color combination: yellow and white, bringing a different flavour of smoothness to this Ubercart theme.

Drupal resource- Writing opportunities at Packt!

Drupal is one of Packt Publishing's favourite topics. After publishing our first Drupal book in May 2006, we have published 20 books in this domain. People usually ask us how can they find out about new opportunities to write a Drupal book for Packt or how can they approach us with their book ideas. We have put together a resource to answer these questions for the Drupal community. It is available at: http://authors.packtpub.com/content/drupal-writing-opportunities-packt.

Tsuiseki Click Fraud Detection Tool released

We just released the Tsuiseki Tracking and Data Analysis tool into the wild and provide tight integration with Drupal as we use a drupal based framework for several dozens of shopping and price comparison sites. As we are still waiting for CVS access the drupal module has to be downloaded from from our website.

About

Tsuiseki Data Analysis® was developed for the optimisation of websites in the field of price comparison, affiliate marketing and online shopping.
It's primary focus is to determine the quality of the incoming traffic for each website with the highest possible reliability. Secondly it features all abilities of a classic website and traffic analysis tool. Last but not least the focus lay on a silent integration into the website. Which means that the system does not depend on 3rd party cookies or interim pages. All tracking is done via Ajax and therefore does not interfere with the user.
