Drupal mentioned on Cnet

I just noticed this 'honorable' mention of Drupal in a Cnet article about Alfresco. Nice :-)

ANN: Simple classified ads module (ed_classified) now available for Drupal 5 (Update)

(This is an update to an earlier announcement about the 4.7.x version - adding drupal 5.x taxonomy)

Please see http://drupal.org/project/ed_classified

Donations to support ongoing development are welcome and appreciated.

Major OG Forum updates & new features

For those interested, check out http://drupal.org/node/121822 and you'll find an update of the Organic Groups forum module. Previously, it has taken criticism for not being able to have multiple forums in a single group, and for breaking site-wide forums. Thanks to a 5.x upgrade patch, a multiple forums (for 4.7) patch, a group context patch provided by others and some further work by myself, these particular shortcomings are out of the way. See the notes in the issue for some caveats.

Naturally, there are a couple of things that could be worked on. The most critical may be that for now, the admin in charge of the site-wide forum needs to take care not to add/delete/edit, etc any forums or containers that belong to an OG forum from within the standard forum manager. A solution to this would be to either hide OG forums from that form, or link it somehow to the related og_forum function calls that link it to the OG. I don't know when I'll be able to get to this.

So for now, maintain site-wide forums from the regular forum admin area and og_forums from their respective forum manager pages.

Open Source CMS Survey: Feb 22 - Mar 19

Isovera is conducting a survey on the use of open source content management systems. We want to better understand how satisfied organizations are with specific systems across implementation stages and functional areas.

This short survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Results will be made publicly available as well as included as part of a larger paper that Isovera is writing.
