I need some multisite advice.

I planning a fairly ambitious multisite project and I hoping you good folks can steer me in the right direction.

Overall, it'll be a social network for political organizing. There will be a total of 52 websites, i.e. the main site domain, one for each of the fifty states, and one for the military. The additional sites would be subdomains off the main.

Each site will need to be it's own network, with separate blogs, groups, forums, and such... the standard social networking modules. Though I would like everyone to be a member of the main site. In addition, I want to be able to promote popular, or important posts/blogs/nodes from the subdomains to appear on the main site's front page. I've been reading handbooks for hours and I'm not sure that's doable, but I really really want it.

The hitch, it would appear, is that I'm not on a dedicated server so I don't have access to shell. I've read about the php symlink option and that seems to work so that's the route I'm currently preparing for.

Breadcrumbs

It would be nice to have the ability to turn breadcrumbs off in either menus or as a block, perhaps.

From what I can tell, you can only turn off breadcrumbs by going into the code, and for some sites, breadcrumbs are not desirable.

Give users edit comment access without administer

Does anyone know how to give my moderators the ability to edit comments without granting the "administer comments" permission? I like that they can get to the comments page, but I don't want them to be able to change comment settings and stuff.

table view for categories

I created some containers and cateogries now, I use the taxonomy menu to create the menu

Container
- Categorie1
- categorie2

now clicking on a categorie display the teaser node.

I would like to see a table:

Name Field1 Field2 Field 3

how to do this

Taxonomy: default user

Hi,

is it possible to configure a taxonomy-term where the actual user is choosen by default?
The other authentical users should be hidden.

Thanx Stefan

Drupal 5 - Opera 8.5 - Left menu not clickable

Hello together,
I just joined the community, because Drupal was recommend to me.

But as always there is a problem.

I set up Drupal 5 and Drupal 4.7 locally with xampp on WindowsXP.

If I'm using Opera 8.5 and drupal 5 I cannot use the left menu. It's like text, nothing happend to the mouse pointer.

Drupal 4.7 ist working fine on Opera 8.5.

Firefox 2 also has no Problems with both Drupals.

Can anybody confirm this behaviour and help me (there's another post with this problem, but no answer)
