We are designing a webpage for an artisan pastry. In this page we will offer services that are too different from eachother:
-listing shop products (directed to clients)
-professional services: courses, assessment, cattering services, etc (directed to professionals)
-a pastry community (directed to persons involved in pastry activities, pros or amateurs)
Now, I have seen a web page that uses a very nice approach to this concept (http://www.cocinaabierta.com). As you can see, in the upper right part, there are the main sections of the web. The links direct to different parts of the web. Even http://www.drupal.org uses primary links in this way somehow.
A different approach is followed by http://new.savannahnow.com/ but they do it within the page content instead of on top with primary links. The same idea as http://www.slf.org.au/
In my oppinion, it is better to use the first approach, as it uses the primary links in a screen area which would be otherwise empty, and leaves the rest of the page for any other use. The second option uses the space of the main page and forces users to press something to access to information that could easily be offered in the first screen.
