Award winning design and production firm seeks a software developer for client projects and operations management. Applicants should be technically skilled/experienced with an emphasis on creating business solutions. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, designing and implementing new software systems, outlining technical solutions/options to clients, and managing the company application infrastructure. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and is eager to learn new technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Languages: PHP, XHTML/CSS, SQL, JavaScript

Additional Areas of Knowledge (helpful but not required): Symfony framework, Java, C#, Flash, AJAX, Protoype or other JavaScript library

Required Skills:

• Experience building and maintaining relational databases, production databases and servers
• 2+ years of experience with PHP, JSP, ASP, or other web server scripting

We are a small independent media company that publishes a national magazine for college-bound high school students in Spain. About 1 year ago we began developing a complementary website internally using Drupal 4.6. You can see the website at www.yaq.es

In order to increase the speed and quality of development, we are looking for a partner to help us redesign and continue development of the web using Drupal. The company/person we are looking for should have:
• Broad experience developing websites with Drupal
• Knowledge of business and design issues surrounding the creation of dynamic community driven websites.
• Experience with youth-oriented websites is a big plus
• Ability to read Spanish a plus
• Traffic building and SEO expertise is a plus

The high-level tasks we are asking for are:
• Work with us and provide guidance in the development of a vision for the site in terms of functionality, content and graphic design
• Establishment of development priorities, with an emphasis on breaking the development into stand-alone phases/chunks that can be implemented and launched sequentially as resources allow.
• Development and launch of the defined phases

It is not necessary that the partner be in Spain as long as we are satisfied that we will be able to communicate effectively at a distance.
